Ruskin Bond is one of India’s most loved writers. This collection of stories has been curated by him and brings together some of his most enjoyed stories. While some feature evocative episodes from his life, a couple of others feature some endearing characters that he has created. In a single volume there is a treat to be enjoyed featuring the iconic Rusty, eccentric Uncle Ken, Ruskin’s grandparents, Aunt Ruby and so on.

Some of these stories have been made into books by themselves. There is a right balance of elements such as nostalgia, adventure, childhood, friendships, fun, humour and spookiness. These stories are going to be savoured by readers for sure. The book is a celebration of the master storyteller’s repertoire of stories. Surely a MUST HAVE for all those who enjoy Mr Bond’s writing.

My 8.5 year old thoroughly enjoyed reading this book with me. He had been gifted this by newly made friends last year. He was very happy to lay his hands on another book by the master storyteller who is his most favourite author, if I may take the liberty of saying so. After all, there isn’t another author whose books he has read himself several times in a loop. Though some of these stories had been read by us earlier, it was a comfort to re-read and savour them again. The gorgeous coloured illustrations added to the experience. Clearly this book is a keepsake and will remain cherished on his shelf for times to come!
