Ninad Talks : Soumya Ayer about The Ghost of Malabar and more
Here is Ninad (the nine year old @ Housefull of Books) talking to Soumya Ayer, the author of “The Ghost of Malabar”. It is an incredible book that we read at the start of this year. It was his first book in the horror genre. The friendly spirit of Velu and his gruesome past gave us a different perspective of history from the conventionally taught one.
The way this book came into our reading list is also serendipitous. I first heard of it thanks to Rati Girish’s podcast post on Instagram. When I saw it amongst the books shortlisted at the Atta Galatta awards during the Blr Lit Fest at the end of last year, I picked it up on a whim. Within a few days, we were attending a wedding where we met a good friend after long. As we got talking about what I am up to these days, she asked me if I had read her sister’s book. It was a pleasant and unexpected surprise to know that her sister was Soumya Ayer, the author of “The Ghost of Malabar”.
The review of the book was written on my newsletter earlier this year and is available here in case you missed it.
