“The Sea in a Bucket” is a delightful book published by Eklavya. Illustrated by extremely talented Deepa Balsavar, this lovely book introduces the concept of water cycle to the little ones.
The interconnection between each of the links in the water cycle is explained very nicely. The protagonist Sonu goes to fill his bucket with water. His trip to the tap takes him on an adventure. Around the lake, along the river, up the mountains and down to the sea.
Where does the water in the tap come from? What do we use water for? Where does the water go after we use it? There is a beautiful poster at the end of the book which shows the entire cycle. The illustrations are very charming and eye catching.
A big thank you to Vidya Mani of Funky Rainbow for recommending this one. Such a simple but powerful book. My (then)six year old loved it and found answers to his questions :) The book is apt for children aged 6 and above.
Where to buy from?
The publishers Eklavya here.
An independent indie bookstore, Funky Rainbow, from where I buy many of my books.
