Tolerance and politeness are essential. A fisherwoman loves fish and a gardener loves flowers. When the two of them cross each other’s path on a rainy day, they are kind and gracious to each other. Yet they find it impossible to be together.
While the gardener cannot stand the smell of fish, the fisherwoman cannot stand the smell of flowers. Our senses are so accustomed to what we surround ourselves with. This fishy flowery story will surely bring some chuckles.
I enjoyed reading this with my (then) six year old. The illustrations are gorgeous and add to the charm of the story. Like most Katha books, this one also has a facts section at the end. Some facts about India and Iran. An added bonus is a small activity of how people greet each other in different Indian languages.
