“Yash (A set of six books)” by Madhuri Purandare. Published by Jyotsna Prakashan. A lovely clutch of books featuring little Yash and his delightful antics.
Each of the six books describe an event or situation in Yash’s life. Guest, Big School, Bored, Masks, Fracture and Mama’s Village. The emotions experienced by Yash are described beautifully in each of these books. His interactions with his family members, friends and neighbours are portrayed in a relatable manner.
Naughty and Messy Yash is too much to handle at times. He has his shares of ups and downs with his sister and parents. He throws up tantrums and seeks attention too. However he is missed when he is not at home. His curiosity and cheekiness are sure to delight children. And we as adults are sure to take a trip down the memory lane as we read these books. Such is the power of these simple but charming books.
My eight year old has loved this collection of books for the last two years. The characters of Yash and his family members were totally relatable for us. The illustrations are beautiful and make the stories come alive. Thank you Vidya Mani of Funky Rainbow for recommending this lovely set of books!

The books work well for anyone beyond 3 years to be read aloud and for children aged 5/6+ for self reading.
